It's only been three weeks since the fire. Which side of this fire line would you be grazing on if you were a buffalo?
This is one of the reasons that Native people used to set range fires, to attract and concentrate the game on the new growth. Today, some innovative land managers are using selective burns to concentrate animals in a similar way, without having to build cross fences. There are pros and cons. Especially in the drier soils of central Oklahoma and westward, burning too frequently can progressively remove a lot of the carbon and fertility from the soil.
