Pottery

I started trying to teach myself traditional pottery when I was 8. Today, I work exclusively in ancestral Choctaw styles and only use clay hand-dug from Choctaw lands, tempered with burned mussel shell, sand, Spanish moss, or other appropriate materials. Every vessel I make is fired traditionally in a well-controlled bonfire and is intended for use, as you will see. I started teaching community pottery classes for Choctaw Nation in 2009. To date, I've led more than 300 traditional pottery firings. Click on a pic and scroll to read about these pieces.
