Conversation

One of the most basic tenets of Choctaw traditional culture is the importance of living in balance with the land around us.  Every day, the timeless wisdom of that simple teaching becomes more obvious as humanity's unbalanced relationship with this planet increasingly threatens our own future.   We can't turn back the hands of time, but is it possible to adapt the wisdom that our ancestors had for living with the land to modern day realities?  We think so, and Nan Awaya Farmstead is an attempt to do just that.

The main purpose of this website is to share experiences and begin a conversation with people who may be interested in Indigenous Choctaw culture, regenerative farming, landscape management, bison, the tallgrass prairie, sustainable living, and other related topics.  We invite you to visit our blog, or send us an email.

We recently had the honor of being interviewed by Native ChocTalk for a two-part podcast about Nan Awaya Farm.  Join us for a fun conversation.
